Along with depression, anxiety disorders are one of the leading mental illnesses that plague people in the U.S.

The disease affects 40 million adults in the United States — (19.1%), and about 7% of children aged 3–17 will experience anxiety, while most people develop symptoms before the age of 21.

Anxiety disorders develop from a complex set of risk factors, including genetics, brain chemistry, personality, and life events.

It’s also not uncommon for people who have an anxiety disorder to suffer from depression. Anxiety affects people’s quality of life since it’s hard to go to school or work when you are anxious.

It also affects our love life since dating is a very anxiety-induced topic.

The constant dread and worry that something might happen and not knowing when your attack is going to rear its ugly head is enough to make sufferers anxious.

Living a life filled with anxiety is not the life I have envisioned for myself. And that’s the same for countless others across the world.
