We’re fifteen days into December, and you’re ready to pull out your hair. The holidays can be a joyous time for many people but a stressful time for others.

There is a plethora of reasons why one might despise the holidays.

Some of those could be money is tight, they don’t get along with their family, or the holiday season has been traumatic since they were little.

Whatever the reason might be, you dread the holiday season. You avoid checking your mailbox or email out of fear of being swamped by invite after invite to holiday parties.

“You’ve been invited to the deck the halls ball!”

“RSVP to the Secret Santa bash!”

“Join us for this year’s Mistletoe brunch!”

You have the urge to scream right then and there. You tell yourself, “There’s no way in Hell I’m going to attend any of those parties.” The thought of mingling with others to the tune of Jingle Bell Rock makes you want to barf.

You wish you could enjoy the holidays like an average person, but unfortunately, it’s not in you, and you wish you could fast-forward to January 2nd.

If this sounds like you, please read on because I have found five ways to help you stress less this holiday season.

Even if you love this time of year, you’re more than welcome to continue reading since I believe it will benefit both Grinches and Whos from Whoville.

Don’t Sweat the Small Stuff.

Don’t let your disgust toward the holiday season turn you into a flaming bag of poop. You may not like the holidays, but plenty of people do.

So, try not to sweat the small stuff and not let every little thing irritate you.

You prefer to be a Grinch towards the holidays, but that doesn’t mean you need to get agitated and throw snowballs at the Christmas Carolers.

Put on some noise-canceling headphones and let them go on their merry way. Pun intended.

Learn to Say No.
